Make Up Review – Purity Made Simple Cleanser
By Skywing Knights // November 17, 2020
Hello all,
Got another make up review coming your way – or rather something to ease your sore, make-up caked skin after a long day of cosplaying – or even just a long day in general! Today we’re talking about the one-step facial cleanser from Philosophy, “Purity Made Simple Cleanser”. If you’re like me, you have your go-to routines for caring for your face and skin, but sometimes you need to kick it up a notch. For me, that almost always happens after I’ve been wearing very heavy make up ie. after I’ve been in cosplay. ^^; For that reason, the Purity Made Simple Cleanser is a staple in my cosplay make up bag.
I keep this in the shower for such occasions (though you can use it of course at the bathroom sink). After a long day, I jump in the shower and along with my normal shower routine, I add this in to clean my face. It’s very gentle, but has a lot of ‘scrubbing power’ so to speak. Thus it removes the stubborn make-up that refuses to get off, even with my normal facial routine. Best of all, the ‘scrubbing power’ doesn’t come with a harsh feeling of rubbing little rocks against your face! It’s very delicate and feels smooth to the touch! Just wonderful.
By the end of my shower (which I highly recommend you do after cosplay to de-stress your body by the way), whatever make up still remains (if any), I can easily get off with washing my face at my bathroom sink with my normal and regular facial cleanser and make-up remover (my Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover, which I reviewed here!). I also don’t have to waste my every day facial cleansers by using them more – the normal amount does the trick for whatever is left over after using the Purity Made Simple Cleanser. Then a few skin care steps later, I’m done and ready for bed!
Another great trick too! Sometimes on days when I just use my normal every day make up, I might find my make up just doesn’t want to come off for some reason at the end of the day or maybe my face just feels tired and sore. In these instances, I can usually just use a dab of the Purity Made Simple Cleanser at the bathroom sink and whatever’s been so stubborn up until that point will come off easy, while relaxing my face at the same time!
So what are the pros and cons of this product?
Pros:
- Very gentle, but powerful.
- Doesn’t sting the eyes.
- Gets off a lot of make up with a relatively little amount (a dab the size of a quarter is normally good enough for me)
- Works on sensitive skin.
- Also good at removing oils.
- Great for use in the shower! One more thing to help you relax!
- Leaves my skin feeling refreshed and clean!
Cons:
- A little expensive and sometimes just too powerful for what I actually need, particularly for every day make up use. Thus I save this for “extravagant” make up use times.
In short, like most of the items I review, I love this item. I seriously highly recommend the Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser because, well, I want you all to know about it! (Seriously, I don’t get paid to promote these items or anything. I just tell you about them because I love them!)
