Happy New Year 2019!
By Skywing Knights // January 22, 2019
Hello loves! And Happy New Year 2019!
My sincerest apologies for not getting anything up here sooner. Life has been… throwing curveballs to say the least and it’s all I can do to dodge or hit them back. So much has been happening though, it’s hard to know where to begin!
I’ll start with a quick recap of December… the holidays happened and I got older! (Yes, I had a birthday and my mom did too!) I took the day off and just relaxed, spending some time with family. Btw, did I mention my roommate got me a flipping Sword for my birthday/Christmas?! She’s officially outdone herself that’s for sure! <3
It’s funny, I don’t think I’d be classified as ‘old’, but I kinda feel that way – growing up, I never planned past a certain age and since I’m now 2 years past that point, I’ve been here like ‘What? I’m still alive?? What do I do now???’ ^^; (The obvious answer is plan more trips to more places of course!) Have you hit a point like that in your life? What did you do? I’m curious! Also, thank you all for the many birthday wishes! <3
I ended up writing thoughts up on this back in December that I meant to share with you all, but never got around to posting them – January hit and everything sort of… slipped around and out of reach. In short though, looking back on life thus far, I think it’s very easy to slip into a destructive pattern or thought process of ‘wow, I’ve wasted so much time’ or ‘I’ve come up short’.
In reality though, when we do this, I think we are really forgetting all that we’ve accomplished thus far in life – and it’s a lot! Not only that, but we forget how we do have a purpose for living and continuing in spite of struggles. So no matter where you are in your life, don’t give up! Keep dreaming and keep working to do all you want to do! And remember, you ARE loved!
(I may post some of these thoughts more in depth on another date, but I have to cut it short here!)
Aside from that, December was of course wonderful as I got to see my family and many friends during the special Christmas season. I hope you were able to celebrate with loved ones as well and that you also had a wonderful New Year!!
Since January, I’ve been busy with a lot of updates happening at home. I’ve been home so often I feel like my head might explode – it’s so frustrating. (I am also rather sick of watching YouTube videos and staring at Computer screens… thus my… delay in getting this up). Though it looks like these updates are going to be lasting a little longer so… do you have any YouTube channels, Netflix shows, or Hulu shows you’d recommend? Kinda on a comedy kick… (Though I think I should be trying to catch up on SNK… ^^; )
I have been keeping myself busy though with various cosplay progress – worked on the 3DM Gear again, Ichigo Kurosaki (Bankai ver.), Chief Ayanami’s wig, and more of Starfire (I promise, I haven’t been slacking off!). Additionally, been working on planning a couple of upcoming trips I’m hoping to take in 2019 and 2020 (Yes, Japan is one of them). If you could go to Japan, where would you like to go? If you’ve been, what was your favorite place to go/thing to experience? What about the rest of the world? Where would you go?
Also in January, my sister had a birthday! Happy Birthday to her! I also got to have a mini-reunion with my bocchan, RaiinFaiiry, from Debatable Cosplay. She came up for a weekend and it was so nice to see her again! The last thing for January seems to be… the Kingdom Hearts 3 countdown. Don’t be surprised if you see nothing from me on Pinterest starting the 25th, haha (I shall be hiding from spoilers). Either way, have you played any of the games from the Kingdom Hearts series and are you excited? The gang looks absolutely fabulous and I can’t wait to dive back into this Disney/SquareEnix fantasy!
In any case, I hope thus far, you’re keeping to your New Year’s Resolutions. (I’ve been trying my best to keep mine!). I also hope that life is well with you all, and that you remember that in this, the beginning of a new year, that you be kind to yourselves and reach always for the stars! Happy New Year 2019!
Sincerely and always yours,
~Skywing
