Surprise CCE 2023 Recap!?

Hey all,

So a very quick recap for you all. At the last minute I decided to bite the bullet and take on the drive to head up to ColossalCon East 2023 this year! (Persuaded by Tsukasa325 I might add lol. But I’m glad she did. 😉 ) I only went up for a day and mostly just wandered and took some photos. But this surprise trip was a ton of fun and I can see why people enjoy the con so much.

Because I had no plans for CCE 2023, I just wore a very casual, moody version of Shoto Todoroki. I swear, I didn’t go into watching My Hero thinking I’d adore cosplaying as him, but he’s quickly becoming one of my favorite cosplays, despite the prosthetics on my face each time (1 hour dang it, 1 hour just to get that entire thing set and dry and looking how I like it. Though I’m sure I’ll get faster at it the more I do it.) What do you think? Should I make his full on hero costume next year?

I have to give a massive shout out of thanks to Tsukasa325 and her hotel roommates too for letting me change in their room while there, because I was NOT about to drive in that make up. XD All that said, I do not envy those who have to deal with more prosthetics than I do for My Hero. (I think we all know which cosplayers we’re talking about -cough cough Touya-nii cough cough-). ;P

That said, I had a bit of a challenge during the shoots that we did since we shot mostly in the evening and the lighting was spotty. But I’m ultimately SUPER pleased with how the results came out (both with those I took and those that were taken of me). Check some of the ones I’ve finished below!

(And yes, for those who look at the photography album, I was incredibly pleased with the amount of blood that was used. Yes, I have problems. XD)

That was likely the last convention of the year for me, so I’m in the midst of gearing up for the next ones. What cons are you looking forward to in 2024? Let me know! Personally, I’m always looking for new adventures – it’s just a matter of getting me to leave my pup for long enough to go on said adventures! 😉
