Post-Otakon 2025 Wrap Up

Otakon went by so quickly, it was a blur! But similar to Katsucon, it was packed – probably even more so! I actually ended up getting lightheaded from exhaustion on Saturday. It was an honest to goodness miracle that as soon as I started my panel “Travel to Japan on YOUR Budget” that I perked up right away. And by the way – that panel was PACKED!! I honestly couldn’t believe it. Everyone who came, you guys were INCREDIBLE!! Thank you so much for coming!!
In addition to my panel, I also did a number of photo shoots this year, both as the photographer and the cosplayer though! (And I even attended a few classes – which Otakon should totally bring back next year. They were great!) Let me go over the big stuff that went down though.
Photo Shoots at Otakon 2025
Like Katsucon, I opened my photography services up at Otakon this year. I ended up doing a ton of private shoots and 1 public (I’ll let you guess which one!). Here however are some of my favorites from the private shoots I did at Otakon 2025:

Everyone I shot with (both at Katsucon and Otakon) was a total delight! I loved the range of cosplayers I got to work with in terms of work, themes, and tones. I hope you enjoy the results too!
My Hero Academia Public Meet Up at Otakon 2025
Are you surprised?! I was, delightfully so! Croissant and Gen got the spot this year for the Official MHA cosplay meet up at Otakon and I was thrilled to be the photographer for this series again! Otakon 2025 Giveaway Photo Shoot
Because the reaction to the Katsucon giveaway change was so positive, I decided to host the giveaway again with the change to focus on photography instead for Otakon 2025. Otakon’s winner this year was cloud_._berries on IG, and I couldn’t get over her Robin cosplay! It was such a fun experience to shoot. Check out some of my favorites linked below!

Post Otakon 2025 Notes
I was lucky enough to do two shoots as the cosplayer this year at Otakon, and I plan to share those photos in another post. They again, were miracles to have occurred, mostly because I was so dead tired by the time I was doing each of them. (Don’t get old, guys). XD But overall, I had a wonderful time at Otakon this past year. It’s a great convention with awesome people who make it what it is – just a fantastic place to meet new people with similar interests. I seriously hope that they do classes again next year too. I know I mentioned them briefly at the beginning, but they were a great ‘down time’ during the con for me and I loved the topics (cosplay creation methodologies and classic Japanese arts). (I seriously can’t stop doing Sashiko embroidery now guys. It’s so calming!).
Anyway, I hope if you were able to attend that you had an excellent time at Otakon as well.
