A lie. That’s what had gotten her here tonight. She had been told he wouldn’t be here. But… here he was. And here she was. And she should have known better. They were both trying to move on. And despite knowing this, they had been intentionally left alone by meddlers. Left alone to dance. To slow dance.
He had to keep running. Not because there was a time limit. Not because anyone was chasing him. Not even because he had anywhere he really had to go. He just… had to keep running.
For a while, he could ignore it, remain ignorant, try to kid himself over what had happened, what Shizuka had done. But not tonight and never again.
